Chameleons
Late in 2023, 400 NFT eggs were minted and distributed freely to the community. There was a window of time where these eggs were available to be hatched into rare Chameleon NFTs.
A total of 2,000 Chameleon NFTs have been minted. 400 of those Chameleon NFTs are rare. The other 1,600 Chameleons are known as common. There was a minting fee associated with Chameleons, and these fees were injected into the MyUSD/ADA liquidity locked in the Mynth DAO.
As all 2,000 Chameleons have been minted, it’s no longer possible to mint more. To obtain a Chameleon, users can use a service such as JPG Store to purchase Chameleons from other users.
Chameleons offer benefits to users, such as providing staking rewards. Some rewards are as follows:
-
Every Chameleon receives a variable amount of MNT each epoch
-
Rare Chameleons paired with two other Chameleons receives a higher staking reward bonus
-
Chameleons add a staking reward bonus to MyUSD stakers
In the near future, there will be additional utility for Chameleons to earn more staking rewards and participating in Mynth’s consensus network.
